About Professor Zhijian Yang:
Professor Zhijian Yang is a Disinguished Professor at Wuhan University. He serves as a deputy director of IMAI, and the director of the Hubei National Center for Applied Mathematics. He joined Wuhan University in June 2010 and currently serves as a member of the 8th Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, China, the president of the Hubei Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (HBSIAM), and the director of the Hubei Key Laboratory for Computational Science. He was the President of the East Asia Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (EASIAM) and editorial board members of scientific journals such as EAJAM and CSIAM-AM.
Professor Yang’ s research focuses on multiscale modeling and computation and the mathematical theory of artificial intelligence. He has been the principle investigators of many prestigious research funds, including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, National Key R&D Programs, NSFC Major Research Plans, and over 20 collaborative projects with companies. He is a recipient of the CSIAM Wang Xuan Prize for Applied Mathematics.

2. Eligibility Requirements
(1) Excellent ideological and moral integrity, rigorous scientific attitude, and dedication to academic research, with good health.
(2) Generally under 35 years old, with a solid mathematical foundation and high-quality academic publications.
(3) Ph.D. degree obtained within three years (as of the application date) or having met the requirements for Ph.D. thesis defense at the time of application.
(4) Compliance with the postdoctoral management regulations of Wuhan University.
3. Job Responsibilities
(1) Conduct independent research under the supervision of Professor Zhijian Yang. Publish academic papers in renowned international journals and participate in academic conferences.
(2) Assist the supervisor in applying for research grants, managing the research team, and organizing academic seminars and discussions. Postdoctoral researchers are also encouraged and supported to apply for research grants independently.
4. Salary and Benefits
(1) Salary: Annual salary ranges from RMB 180,000 to RMB 300,000 (pre-tax, including group contributions). Outstanding candidates will be recommended to apply for the “Hongyi Postdoctoral Fellowship” at Wuhan University or other postdoctoral funding programs. The salary will then follow the university regulations and can be supplemented by national, provincial, and municipal postdoctoral funding programs.
(2) During the postdoctoral term, candidates are eligible to apply for senior positions. Outstanding candidates who meet the university’s talent recruitment policies are eligible to apply for faculty positions at Wuhan University.
(3) Other benefits, include housing funds, pensions, occupational annuity, postdoctoral apartments, or housing subsidies, as well as access to childcare, education, and healthcare, follows Wuhan University’s postdoctoral management policies.
